I rarely mention
specific companies
on this blog
but have had
a few brief posts
about Tesla (TSLA)
because this Finance MBA,
who has written an
economics newsletter
as a hobby since 1977,
absolutely can't figure out
why investors throw
so much money
at the company.
Tesla is a bizarre company,
like Apple, although one
is bizarre because it
sits on a HUGE pile of cash,
instead of giving it to
shareholders,
while Tesla is bizarre
because it burns
investors' cash
because it burns
investors' cash
at an accelerating rate.
I have nothing against Apple
-- this is being typed on
a ten year old MacBook Pro.
I liked Tesla's first car,
and saw one today --
nice looking, although
an all electric car
wastes 80% or more
wastes 80% or more
of the energy
in the fossil fuels,
that were used
that were used
to produce the electricity
to charge the batteries
to charge the batteries
( about 65% coal used
for electric power from DTE,
here in southeastern Michigan,
for electric power from DTE,
here in southeastern Michigan,
so I call Teslas "Coal Cars" ):
... I explained in
an unusually popular
climate science article,
on my climate blog,
why electric cars
(with the current technology)
are no good:
I believe this was
my first brief post on Tesla,
in June 2017, at the link below.
... and this was
my only full article on Tesla
in March 2018, at the link below:

I believe Tesla
will be bankrupt
in a year or two,
thanks to
so much
competition,
competition,
(see link below)
But you never know
about the future --
Bernie Madoff
stayed "in business"
for a long time !
I believe Tesla has a better chance
of surviving with Elon Musk
working somewhere else.
I hope the SEC makes that happen.
Musk makes "Trumpian" claims
about his company that are not true,
and that's bad character.
A CEO with bad character
can't be good for investors.
Our U.S. "CEO" President Trump
mainly stretches the truth,
about a decent economy,
thanks to his front loaded tax cut,
by falsely claiming "alternative facts"
such as: "The greatest economy ever",
which drives me crazy, but maybe
he believes that, so is it a lie
when one believes it?
