Charts to supplement the July August ECONOMIC LOGIC newsletter

I recently remembered why I include few charts in the newsletter, and started this blog in 2008 for posting color charts and graphs, that end up hard to read in a printed black and white newsletter.

I had planned the newsletter for mid-July, with 6 pages of charts, placing 4 charts on each page. That didn't work: The charts were too hard to read in the black and white laser printer version of the newsletter, that some subscribers still get.

So I went back to the drawing board (computer) and searched the internet for better charts. And I'm still searching for better charts, at least for a few more days.

To make sure they are easy to read in the printed newsletter (my favorite format) I'm going to place only 2 large charts on each page ... and right now my draft has 13 charts spread over 7 pages -- pretty big for a "four-page" newsletter.

I'm going to present 10 charts and graphs here, that did not make the initial cut.

And I plan to publish my first  "BIG CHART newsletter" in a few days, on Saturday or Sunday:
