I've been posting my transactions on this blog since 2008, but never before included my stop loss orders.
Reason: Stop loss orders do limit losses, but sometimes, especially for an investment with a volatile price, they sell too soon, and limit gains.
I bought a large UNG position at $19.44 on 07/03/19, when the weather was hot, and planned to sell in the fall when the weather was colder.
UNG (exchange traded natural gas futures fund)
is trading at $22.35 this morning,
and I just decided to place
a stop loss order at $21.10.
