Low-income
households
are struggling
to make
ends meet
during the
“greatest
economy ever”
... and we are
over 10 years
past the end of
the last recession.
Many surveys show
that most Americans
are living paycheck
to paycheck.
A new report from UBS
says that 44% percent
of all U.S. consumers
“don’t make enough money
to cover their expenses".
Unfortunately, most jobs
in the United States
are not “good jobs”.
The current poverty level
for a U.S. household of four
is $25,750.
More than 40% of workers
in the U.S. make less
than that each year.
It's true that 10% of all
American workers
are making $100,000
or more a year,
mainly in the
major cities
along the east
and west coasts.
But the Social Security
Administration said
the median income
in the United States
was just $32,838 in 2018
-- meaning half of
American workers
made less than $32,838.
Many families today
have a member
working multiple jobs
to make ends meet.
-33% of all American workers
made less than $20,000
last year.
-46% made less than
$30,000 last year.
-58% made less than
$40,000 last year.
-67% made less than
$50,000 last year.
