The next EL newsletter will be the last issue of ECONOMIC LOGIC in a newsletter format. That's why no one was asked to renew their subscription after 2018. The world moves too fast for one newsletter every two months. After the last newsletter, content will be via posts made several days a week, on this EL Blog, still at www.EL2017.Blogspot.com
The planned March-April 2020 Trump "Report Card" article was ready to go in mid-March 2020. I only had a few sentences on COVID-19. Suddenly, the COVID-19 epidemic, and the resulting unemployment, became the biggest event in President Trump's first term, by far. I decided to delay that last newsletter until I could evaluate what the Trump Administration did to educate the population, and help the states, whose governors are in charge of closing and opening their state economies.
Some state economies started opening up in May. By mid-June it should be possible to judge whether that was a smart move, or not, and whether the Trump "opening guidelines" were followed. Stock investors have had growing optimism since mid-March. They are usually a smart group, anticipating good news, but not always !
I thank all subscribers since I started writing a financial newsletter in 1977, as a hobby, while earning an MBA at New York University. I hope you enjoy the expanded EL Blog, to be launched after the next (last) EL newsletter.
