25% of New York City's apartment renters haven't paid their rent since March

Bloomberg, cited
a new report via the
Community Housing
Improvement Program
             (CHIP),
a group that represents
landlords, said 25% of
New York City's apartment
renters haven't paid
their rent since March.

President Trump has been
on Twitter boasting about
the economy and jobs
"are growing faster
than anyone expected."

Rental income for landlords
is needed for servicing
mortgage payments and
covering other
building-related
expenses.

Meanwhile,
direct payments
to Americans from
various governments
now make up 25%
of all personal income,
suggesting the stimulus
running out at the
end of July is a big deal.

Will Democrats
in the House
give Trump a
"Round 2
 Stimulus"?

New York state passed
the Tenant Safe Harbor Act
last month, which makes it
even harder for landlords
to evict.

Demand for new rentals
has fallen as people
flee cities due to virus
pandemic and social
unrest.

Will college students
have to attend classes
in the fall ?

They can study from home,
( and people can work
from homes  located
 anywhere ).

Sharon Redhead,
a landlord in Brooklyn's
East Flatbush neighborhood,
said if rental income doesn't
rebound in the near term -
she might be forced
to sell her property.

She said 40% of the tenants
in her +50 unit building
skipped out on rent payments
in June.

America's largest
rental market was
hardest hit by COVID-19,
so New York City is facing
a rental market crisis.

I wouldn't count on
the NYC mayor
to fix things !
