Railroad shipping container and trailer volumes in 2020 up for 4.5 months in a row versus 2019 = good news

Week ending December 12, 2020:
U.S. railroads 
originated 308,016
containers and trailers
in the week ending 
December 12, 2020,  
up +11.1 percent,

 

Week ending December 5, 2020:
U.S. railroads 
originated 297,217
containers and trailers
in the week ending 
December 5, 2020,
up +10.5 percent, 
from the same month last year.

November 2020:
"U.S. railroads originated 1,136,695
containers and trailers in November 2020,
up +11.5 percent, or 116,915 units,
from the same month last year." 


October 2020:
"U.S. railroads originated 1,169,874
containers and trailers in October 2020,
up +10 percent, or 105,966 units,
from the same month last year."

September 2020:
"U.S. railroads originated 1,423,883
containers and trailers in September 2020,
up +7.1 percent, or 94,351 units,
from the same month last year."

August 2020:

"U.S. railroads originated 1,122,954
containers and trailers in August 2020,
up +3 percent, or 33,115 units,
from the same month last year."
