Corporate insiders doing a huge amount of selling, relative to buying, thei company's shares.

I used to report the insider sell versus buy ratio in my ECONOMIC LOGIC newsletter  for many decades. 


But now I prefer looking only at the very large buys and sales by insiders (corporate officers only, not including 10% owners, such as mutual funds). 

 

I define large transactions as being over $5 million, and a 30 percentage point or more change of the executive's total holdings of company stock.

 

These large trades have been bearish since Labor Day 2020.

 

The insider sell vs. buy ratio below looks at all transactions -- no surprise -- it's bearish too:
