US railroad intermodal volume (freight containers and trailers) up slightly in February 2022, but lower than 2021 in the first half of March 2022

Week ending March 12, 2022:
U.S. weekly intermodal volume was 263,746 containers and trailers, down 9.1 percent compared to 2021.

Week ending March 5, 2022:
U.S. weekly intermodal volume was 266,307 containers and trailers, down 5.8 percent compared to 2021.

Month of February 2022:
U.S. railroads originated 1,030,317 containers and trailers in February 2022, up +1.4 percent, or 14,294 units, from the same month last year.
