US railroad container freight volume still in a rising trend = good news

Week ending January 16, 2021:
U.S. weekly intermodal volume was 295,997 containers and trailers, up +12.8 percent compared to 2020.
 
 
Week ending January 9, 2021:
U.S. weekly intermodal volume was 289,849 containers and trailers, up +10.4 percent compared to 2020.
 
 
Week ending January 2, 2021:
U.S. weekly intermodal volume was 219,713 containers and trailers, up +10.7 percent compared to week 1 in 2020".
 

 December 2020:
"U.S. railroads originated 1,334,495 
containers and trailers in December 2020, 
up +12.2 percent, or 145,126 units,
 from the same month last year."

November 2020:
"U.S. railroads originated 1,136,695
containers and trailers in November 2020,
up +11.5 percent, or 116,915 units,
from the same month last year." 


October 2020:
"U.S. railroads originated 1,169,874
containers and trailers in October 2020,
up +10 percent, or 105,966 units,
from the same month last year."

September 2020:
"U.S. railroads originated 1,423,883
containers and trailers in September 2020,
up +7.1 percent, or 94,351 units,
from the same month last year."

August 2020:

"U.S. railroads originated 1,122,954
containers and trailers in August 2020,
up +3 percent, or 33,115 units,
from the same month last year."
